The Language of Dogs

Numerous theories and conceptualizations of dog language have been proposed before. Everyone adores a cute furball and their contagious, lovely energy, but occasionally we all wish we could comprehend the strange ideas these amazing friends have in their heads.

Although they can’t directly speak to us, dogs use body language to express how they are feeling.

The first thing any new dog owner wants to read about their companion is when they're scared, anxious or stressed: a telling sign is when a dog is cowering or  hunched to the ground. To make them more comfortable, try to appear smaller or give the signal “I mean no harm”.

These signs apply to their tails as well. When dogs are scared, their tails will point to the ground or tuck between their legs.

Since dogs are simple creatures, it should be very easy to tell their negative tells and signs, but we all want to have the joyful feeling of knowing when our pups are ecstatically happy.

Tail wagging is the best indication that your bundle of joy is enjoying their life. The faster the tail wags, the more excited they are. It has even been proven that when dogs wave their tails to the right, it’s a more positive sign.

This is what the joyful beauty of a pup is.

When a dog is at its most aggressive and assertive, there are some telltale signs that will let you know instantly.

When their tails stick straight up or hit their back, it’s an indication they are usually on high alert or in other cases they are entering or feel that a threatening situation is occurring.

While staring could be an indicator of aggression, it could be explained by other factors as well.  Staring could be for just the sake of wanting someone, causing the infectious puppy dog eyes. On the other hand,it could be a sign that they are about to pounce…or that they may just want a treat for being so good.

Everyone knows that dogs are at their most joyous form when they are accompanied by their favorite person, having a good meal, and playing with their favorite toy.

The Pupcycled team not only works hard on making these dog toys from recycled clothing materials, working to improve and keep our one of a kind planet healthy, but also bringing happiness and joy to these little pups everywhere.
